zcal is a free scheduling app, and its class links work as yoga booking software for independent teachers and small studios. Put your weekly timetable online, set how many mats fit in the room, and share one link. Students book from their phone, get a reminder before class and tell you about injuries before they arrive. You stop answering "Is there space tonight?" and get back to teaching.

How it works

1. Add your class timetable

Create a class, such as Beginner Yoga or Yin, and set how long it runs and how many mats fit in the room. Then pick the days and times. The timetable repeats every week, and you can add a one-off workshop or skip a holiday.

2. Ask what you need to know

Add a question about injuries or pregnancy, and a waiver checkbox that students must tick before they book. You'll know who needs a modification before class starts.

3. Share your link

Put it in your Instagram bio, on your website or in your newsletter. Students pick a class and book their mat with no app and no account, and each class drops off your page when the last mat is taken.

Yoga classes you can run with zcal

Weekly studio classes

Vinyasa, hatha, yin and power yoga on a timetable that repeats every week. Set the number of mats for each class, so nobody turns up to a room with no space.

Private yoga sessions

Offer 1-on-1 sessions from a booking page, next to your classes. Students pick a time that suits them, and zcal checks your calendar, so a private session never lands on a class that already has students.

Workshops and special events

Inversion workshops, sound baths and teacher trainings run on the dates you choose. Add the dates, set the number of spots, and share the link with your students.

Prenatal, gentle and therapeutic yoga

Small classes where every student needs your attention. Keep the class to a few mats, and ask about pregnancy or health conditions on the booking form, so you can plan your modifications.

Online yoga classes

Teach over Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, and each student gets the class link in their calendar invite. Students in other cities see your classes in their own time zone.

Why yoga teachers use zcal

A timetable that's always right

Move a class or take a week off in one place, and your booking page updates right away. zcal also checks your Google, Outlook or Apple calendar, so if something else lands at class time, that class is hidden until you're free.

Fewer empty mats

Every student gets a calendar invite and an email reminder before class. On Pro, add text reminders too. Students who can't make it cancel from their invite, and their mat opens up for someone else.

Bookings around the clock

Students book from their phone at 11 pm or 5 am, with no app to download and no account to make. You wake up to a full class list instead of a full inbox.

Drop-ins and class packs

Connect Stripe and charge a drop-in price when students book. On Pro, sell class packs with promo codes that cover a set number of classes.

Your cancellation policy, your rules

Set a booking cutoff, such as 2 hours before class, so you know your numbers before you leave home. For a stricter policy, hide the cancel and reschedule links, and students message you instead.

Your class list, ready

See who's booked into each class and what they told you on the booking form. Download the list as a CSV file for check-in or your records.

Is zcal right for your studio?

It depends on the size of your studio.

  • Independent teachers: yes. Classes, private sessions, reminders and payments, all on one free account. Classes of up to 5 students are free, and Pro, from $7 a month, removes the limit.
  • Small studios with a few teachers: yes. Each teacher runs their own classes from their own account. On Pro, students can book a private session with whichever teacher is free, with round robin.
  • Large or multi-location studios: probably not. If you sell memberships with automatic billing, run a front-desk check-in app or list your classes on ClassPass, you need full studio management software, which costs more each month.

Tips for a fuller yoga schedule

  • Put the style and the level in the name. "Gentle Flow: all levels" tells a new student more than "Yoga 2".
  • Add the practical details. Put the address, the parking and what to bring in the class description, so first-timers don't have to message you.
  • Ask one health question, not ten. A short, optional question about injuries gets honest answers. A long form puts people off.
  • Open bookings a month ahead. Students who plan their week book early, and you see which classes need a push.

Frequently asked questions

What is yoga scheduling software?

Yoga scheduling software puts your class timetable online, so students book a spot themselves instead of messaging you. It counts the mats, sends the reminders and gives you the class list. zcal does all three for free, and students don't need an app.

Is there a free yoga class booking system?

Yes. zcal's free plan lets you run as many yoga classes as you like, with up to 5 students in each, plus email reminders, booking questions and Stripe payments. Pro, from $7 a month, removes the limit and adds text reminders and class packs.

What is the best booking system for yoga classes?

For an independent teacher or a small studio, the best system is the one students find easy: one link, a spot count, reminders and payment. zcal does all four, and the free plan costs nothing. A studio that sells memberships and runs a front desk usually needs full studio software, which costs more each month.

Can students pay for drop-ins and class packs?

Yes. Connect Stripe and set a drop-in price, and students pay when they book. On Pro, you can also sell class packs: a promo code that covers a set number of classes.

Can I collect waivers before class?

Yes. Add a required checkbox, such as "I agree to the studio waiver", and link your waiver in the class description. Students can't book until they tick it. On Pro, you can also ask students to upload a signed form.

Can I teach online yoga classes?

Yes. Pick Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams as the location, and each student gets the class link in their calendar invite. Students in other cities see your class times in their own time zone.

Can more than one teacher use zcal?

Yes. Each teacher makes their own free account and runs their own classes, so their calendars stay separate. On Pro, your teachers can share private sessions with round robin, so each booking goes to a teacher who's free.

Do students need an app to book a yoga class?

No. Students open your link on their phone or computer, pick a class and type their name and email. They don't download an app or make an account.

Can I add my class timetable to my studio's website?

Yes. Embed your class page on your website, so students book without leaving it. Embedding is free on every plan.
